Our team is the heart of the center, guiding students of all ages and skill levels toward their martial arts goals. I want to introduce you to the instructors who make Ingram's Karate Center a trusted place for learning karate in Tampa and New Port Richey, Florida.



Sheri Angwin 7th Dan – Chief Instructor at Carrollwood Dojo & Owner of Ingram's Karate Center

Sheri Angwin holds the rank of 7th Dan and began her karate training at Ingram's in the early 1980s. Sensei Sheri serves as the Chief Instructor at our Carrollwood location. She is widely recognized for leading the best-ranked karate kids class in Tampa, Florida. Sheri's teaching style combines discipline with encouragement, helping young students build confidence and respect alongside their karate skills.


Her extensive experience ensures that every student receives personalized attention, whether they are beginners or preparing for black belt tests. Sheri’s classes focus on developing strong fundamentals, physical fitness, and mental toughness, which are essential for success in karate and beyond.





Jennifer Davenport 7th Dan – Director and Chief Instructor at New Port Richey Dojo

Jennifer Davenport also holds a 7th Dan rank and directs the New Port Richey dojo. Sensei Jen began training at Ingram's Karate Center in 1984 when she was a young child.

Sensei Jen serves as both Director and Chief Instructor allowing Sensei Jen to oversee the curriculum and ensures that all instructors maintain high standards of teaching. Her leadership has helped the New Port Richey location become a hub for karate enthusiasts of all ages.


Sensei Jennifer emphasizes the importance of tradition and respect in karate training. She encourages students to set goals and work steadily toward them, fostering a strong sense of community within the dojo. Her classes often include advanced techniques and kata, preparing students for competition and real-world self-defense.


Angee Hastings 4th Dan – Kobudo Program Director at Carrollwood Dojo

Angee Hastings, ranked 4th Dan, leads the Kobudo program at Carrollwood. Kobudo is the traditional Okinawan martial art of weapons training, Sensei Angee brings expert knowledge and passion to this specialized area. Her classes teach students how to handle weapons such as the bo staff, sai, and tunfa safely and effectively.


Under Sensei Angee’s guidance, students gain a deeper understanding of martial arts history and develop coordination, timing, and precision. Her program is a valuable addition to the karate curriculum, offering students a chance to expand their skills beyond empty-hand techniques.


Liddy Diaz Sho Dan – Instructor at Carrollwood Dojo

Liddy Diaz, a Sho Dan black belt, has become an integral part of the Carrollwood dojo and we're proud to have her as a lead instructor at our Carrollwood location . She brings energy and dedication to her teaching, focusing on helping students refine their techniques and build endurance. Sensei Liddy’s approach balances technical skill with practical application, making her classes engaging and effective.


Students appreciate Sensei Liddy’s clear instructions and supportive attitude. She works closely with each student to identify strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring steady progress in their karate journey. Sensei Liddy believes that a karate school isn't just a place to train but a place where you find your karate family.


Trey Angwin 4th Dan – Head Instructor at Carrollwood Dojo

Trey Angwin holds a 4th Dan rank and serves as the Head Instructor at Carrollwood. Sensei Trey’s leadership in the dojo is marked by his commitment to discipline and skill development. He focuses on creating a positive learning environment where students feel challenged but supported.


Sensei Trey’s classes cover all aspects of karate, from basic strikes and blocks to advanced sparring techniques. He began his karate training at just three years old and has never looked back, this long term dedication to the art allows him to prepare students for tournaments and belt promotions with confidence.



Jadyn Frank 3rd Dan - Lead Instructor at New Port Richey Dojo

Jadyn Frank holds a 3rd Dan rank and serves at the Lead Instructor at Ingram's in New Port Richey. Sensei Jadyn began training at Ingram's at the age of 3 and has always given 100% to developing her skills and knowledge.


Because she has a deep understanding of what it means to be a young child in karate, Sensei Jadyn is able to approach her classes with a gentle spirit that not only helps new students overcome the fear of trying something new, but she also balances that gentleness with a strength that brings confidence and purpose to her leadership role. Sensei Jadyn specializes in teaching our Dragon's program which is designed for children ages 3-5.
