The countdown is on for Ingram's competitive karate team as they prepare to travel to Ft. Lauderdale next week for the AAU Karate Nationals. This event marks the season finale, a moment that every athlete on the team has worked tirelessly toward throughout 2026. The dedication shown by these students of all ages and skill levels has been remarkable, with countless weekends spent honing their techniques and pushing their limits. Now, they are ready to showcase their skills on a national stage, competing in kata, kobudo, and kumite.

• Kobudo: Meaning 'Ancient Martial Way' is an art of practice using traditional Okinawan weapons such as the bo staff, sai, and nunchaku to perform complex routines.

These athletes are set to travel to Romania in July of this year to challenge themselves against the best from other countries. Their success reflects the quality of training and commitment at Ingram's dojo. Ingram's is proud to have had multiple students selected for the national team each year for over 20 years, competing in Australia, Scotland, London, Spain, Budapest, Japan, as well as many more countries.
