Testimonials

The focus, discipline and self-esteem that Austin has acquired and displayed over the past two years that he has been taking karate at Ingram's Karate has been very rewarding to me personally as his grandfather. To have been able to watch Austin develop into the confident person that he is becoming through the association with the staff, and with the program of instruction at Ingram's, has been unsurpassed in any other endeavor in which he could have been a participant.

His respect for the instructors is very heart-warming to me, and the training and support that he has received from everyone this past year while participating in the AAU competitions kept us all on the edge of our seats during the different competitions. For a person with Austin's almost humble personality to have won the events he has won has made me very proud of him.

I attend a great many of his practices, and all of the tournaments, including the one in which he received the Silver medal in Miami which was more than I could have ever expected him to have achieved.

In conclusion, I can't say enough good things about the staff at Ingram's, and I would highly recommend that the training, the self-confidence, the discipline and self-esteem that Austin has acquired over the past two years speaks for itself.

Hello Cindy and John. You probably don't remember me, but I was a student in your class many, many years ago. I attended your school when the classes were held in the Rec Center in New Port Richey. I think it was 1988 or 1987. I just wanted to say that I am glad to see you are still training people in this style of karate. I still remember a lot of the philosophies I learned back then and still use them today.

I would like to thank you for all you taught me in my younger and more wild days about discipline and focus. They have really helped me in my life and I am glad to see you still teach those same disciplines to younger generations. We need it in this day and age. Thanks again for everything!

When I first started, I was weak, shy and needed self confidence. The first day I was here, I felt like I belonged. My teachers, Sensei Jen, Sensei Cindy, Sensei John and Sensei Chad made me work as hard as I could.

Now I'm a black belt and I help teach. I'm 12 years old and the kids love me. The teachers are my friends and I'm now everything I dreamed of.

My name is Kelly Andrews and I was a student of Sensei John and Cindy's about seven years ago. I am about to graduate from the University of Florida next month and I just wanted to thank both of them for everything.

I do not think I would have had the discipline for college without their help. I hope they remember me. Either way, I will not forget them.

As a mother, it is hard to put into words the feeling and trembling emotions when your 9-year-old daughter puts on her black belt. She attempted six months before, but you could tell it was not in her. She failed the part that takes some stamina, the mile run.

In a few months she began to grow in Karate spirit and matured. She set goals and convinced herself she was going to be a black belt. She decided to start training - running two to three times a week starting with a half mile at a time. I was concerned because she stopped a lot and seemed to tire out quickly. This never got her down - she said she was going to do it!

As the test day got closer she pushed herself a little harder each day. I knew she was determined because she said she was going to do it and never questioned her ability. I still stayed nervous and my anxiety for her grew because it was something she wanted and worked hard for and I wanted her to succeed. Sensei's words of confidence, pointers and dedication helped her reach her goals and keep her confidence high.

I watched my daughter that day in December turn from a 9-year-old girl into a black belt in Isshinryu Karate - mind and spirit in tact.

I want to thank the Ingram family and all the Senseis and hope they know how much they have changed the lives of many people by dedicating themselves to helping children learn the true meaning of karate, family karate and what it takes to be a true black belt.

Thank you Ingram's Karate. I hope you know how much you are a part of our life.

Let the journey continue.

Lots of love,

Meredith - S. B.'s Mom (Now a Jr. Black Belt)
