We at True Budo Productions are proud to offer the first videos in a series on Isshinryu Karate by the foremost authority and senior American student of Tatsuo Shimabuku, Master Harold Mitchum. The first two volumes of this series are now available.

VOLUME 1 includes Master Mitchum performing the kata and bunkai for Seisan, Seiunchin, Naihanchi and Wansu. This video also includes history of Isshinryu Karate.

VOLUME 2 includes Master Mitchum performing the kata and bunkai for Chinto, Sanchin, Kusanku and Sunsu.

Master Mitchum's performance of the Kata is unchanged from the way he was taught by the late founder Grandmaster Tatsuo Shimabuku. Master Mitchum trained on Okinawa for a total of 7 1/2 years during the late 1950's through the mid 1960's. Master Mitchum was the first American to be promoted by Grandmaster Tatsuo Shimabuku to 8th Dan. This was in 1964. He is currently the director of the United Isshinryu Karate Association (UIKA). The UIKA is dedicated to the preservation of the original method of performing the Isshinryu kata as taught to Master Mitchum by the late Grandmaster Tatsuo Shimabuku.
